The appointee should be ideally based in a major metro city of their country of residence. There is flexibility to work virtually and be based in an alternative city, but they must be able to travel and visit clients in their respective economic regions and financial markets. As a virtual worker, interaction with colleagues will be via email, phone, Skype, GoToMeeting and similar collaboration platforms.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

The appointee will work on a number of financial modelling and software development projects as and when the projects are assigned to this person. An initial list of such projects is set out below. The appointee will also carry out client facing marketing and support activities (listed under Other Projects).

  • Modelling Analysis and (Software) Product Support
    Tasks include the following points, which is an indicative but not complete list:

    • The appointee will be working directly with the Managing Director and also interact with the rest of OptiRisk’s development and support team.
    • The appointee will give technical support to the company’s clients and from time to time, will be required to work at the offices of the client with the technical team.
    • During the first two months of employment,the new appointee will be given training.
  • Other Projects:
    • The appointee will work closely with a small team of developers who are based in the UK, India, Italy, Germany and Brazil. Responsibilities can include development, testing and analysis of financial trading products.
    • The appointee will be expected to carry out pre-sales support, commercial engagements and help to generate sales leads in the local area.
    • The appointee will provide support for online or offline training sessions (with our sister company UNICOM Seminars).
    • The appointee will be required to work to tight deadlines and report on progress and deliverables on a regular basis.
Skills/Requirements:
  • Bachelor or equivalent degree in Mathematics, Computing, Economics, Statistics, Engineering or a science degree. Masters qualification is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge or interest in the Finance and Investment industry.
  • Experience with programming languages and modern programming environments in particular C++, Python, Matlab and R. Additional knowledge of other programming languages is desirable.
  • Must be able to travel to other countries within the continent.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on assigned tasks.
Compensation:

OptiRisk pays a premium for talented persons. The salary is competitive and above the market average. In addition, the company pays incentive bonus which is specified on a project by project basis.

    • Similarly, for a second client based in Gurgaon, the appointed person will provide support to their team and company, who are a well established Hedge Fund.
    • The appointee will provide support for online or offline training sessions (with our sister company UNICOM Seminars).
    • The appointee will also work closely with a small team of developers who are based in the UK, India, Italy, Germany and Brazil. Responsibilities can include development, testing and analysis of financial trading products.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree in computing, mathematics or economics from a Tier 1 Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) in India. He or she would have 1 – 3 years’ work experience, preferably with industry experience in Financial Services. Graduates of other quantitative disciplines but looking for an early career move to computational finance may also apply. The candidate is also expected to possess ability and passion for problem solving, abstract reasoning and commitment to achieve results and career development.

Compensation:

OptiRisk pays a premium for talented personnel. The salary is competitive and above the market average. Starting salary is between INR 12,00,000 – 15,00,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, the company pays incentive bonus which is specified on a project by project basis.

Immediately or whenever the candidate is able to join.

Key responsibilities:
  • The person will be responsible for carrying out research about the global Finance industry for marketing purposes
  • After the initial training period, he/she is flexible to work virtually and out of the office
  • He or she is expected to work within a small team and report on progress and deliverables on a regular basis at weekly meetings
  • Working to tight deadlines is a key requirement of this position
  • Work load will vary according to peak periods in the business
Time commitment is between 15-20 hours per week
Skills/Requirements:
  • Must have knowledge about the Finance and Investment industry
  • Bachelor or equivalent degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computing or an engineering or science degree
  • Currently pursuing MSc. or Ph.D. in the field of Computer Science, Mathematical Finance or Finance/Economics
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on assigned tasks
Compensation:

£10 per hour
