JOB SPECIFICATION:

The profile of an ideal Candidate is set out below:

Age Band:

Between twenty-four (24) and thirty (30) years of age

Educational Background:

High achiever possibly in top 10% two out of three in the following periods of studies. CGPA for all periods of studies will be required.

  • School Levels: Primary and Secondary school levels.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: English or History or Classics or or Business Studies
  • Master’s Degree: Master’s level study is welcome but not essential.
Skills/Requirements:

The candidate is expected to possess:

  1. Good to excellent competence in written and spoken English language; further another language.
  2. A business level understanding in the domains of Management topics, Information and Communications (ICT) technologies.
  3. Some experience of typesetting tools such as Latex or Scientific Word
  4. Basic to Intermediate level competence of MS Office. In particular tools such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Publisher.
JOB SPECIFICATION:

Key aspects of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct research and identify authors/contributors to UNICOM’s areas of business.
  • Identify potential authors/contributors in the area of UNICOM’s Events and Training business.
    • our publishing partner: Taylor Francis CRCPress; especially subject editors and their support staff,
    • book editors and authors
    • Experts in the topic areas of the book(s) which we plan to co-publish.
  • Manage workflow of manuscript preparation and proof reading
Experience:
  1. The candidate will have between two (2) and five (5) years of work experience in some aspects of publishing and book production.
  2. we are willing to consider as an intern/trainee, an otherwise suitable person, who is an early-stage entrant to the publishing profession.

Hours of work:

The selected candidate can work fairly flexible hours Monday to Friday; but the total hours per week is set at 35. The time for interactions and collaboration is anchored around the GMT time zone. JOB SPECIFICATION:

OptiRisk’s Projects are primarily in the domain of ‘Financial Markets’. The research team uses financial market data, news sentiment data as appropriate and, derivatives data as and when required.

Successful candidate is expected to possess knowledge of predictive AI/ML and Neoclassical Quant model(s).

and applying Library of Open-Source Packages (Intermediate to advanced skills in AI/ML modelling)

Other tasks include the following, which is an indicative but not complete list:

  • The appointee will work closely with a small team of developers who are based in the UK, India, Italy, Germany, and other parts of the world. Responsibilities can include development, testing and analysis of financial trading products
  • The appointee will provide support for online or offline training sessions (with our sister company UNICOM Seminars)
  • The appointee will be required to work to tight deadlines and report on progress and deliverables on a regular basis
Skills/Requirements:
  • In the top 5% in educational grades in their country of schooling/education; school grades are important consideration.
  • Good to excellent written and spoken English language competence.
  • Has acquired knowledge in modern methods of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in short (AI&ML)
  • Has a basic understanding of the Financial Markets; and the quantitative models applied to Trading and Investment Management.
  • Is skilled in computational models and in the use of Python or R and another programming language.
  • Competent in SQL and relational databases
  • Comfortable working with scripts in Linux
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on assigned tasks

The Team:

The software development team is small and comprises 2-3 people. It is directed by company’s CTO Dr Christian Valente; he has over 22(+) experience with the company. The candidate will join this small but well-knit team.

Key responsibilities:
  • The person will be responsible for carrying out research about the global Finance industry for marketing purposes
  • After the initial training period, he/she is flexible to work virtually and out of the office
  • He or she is expected to work within a small team and report on progress and deliverables on a regular basis at weekly meetings

  • Work load will vary according to peak periods in the business
Time commitment is between 15-20 hours per week
